Want to know more?

BoatSmith is about Boaters, the Smith River, and the Local Community.  BoatSmith is open to everyone. So join us.  Compete, Celebrate, Connect.  BoatSmith is a fundraiser for the Gasquet Mountain School to help get youth outdoors.

Want to help out?  Sign up to be a volunteer either for race day safety, set-up/take-down, or registration.  You'll get free admission to the festival, and of course the appreciation of your fellow boaters!  If you have any questions about specifics please Contact us!

BoatSmith is a Festival bringing boaters together.  Experience a great weekend on the Smith River, and support the local community.  There will be a number of whitewater opportunities ranging from Class II to Class V.  We are also opening the door to all boaters using all types of boats.  Whether that be a Hardshell, Canoe, or Inflatable Kayak.  Rafts, Cats, and Creature Crafts are welcome too.  Wanna float with a SUP or a River Board?  Currently we are planning launch on a class II to III section and a IV/V class.  Look at the Event page for more details on boat events.  Also feel free to contact us if you have a boat you'd like to represent.

We will also have a kick-ass awards party Saturday night with some local brews, live music,a movie night , and a raffle.

BoatSmith will be held on the Smith River in Northwest California.  There will be free camping at Patrick Creek Campground across from the historic Patrick Creek Lodge.  If you prefer not to camp contact the Patrick Creek Lodge soon as rooms are limited.  Awards and Movie Night will be held at the lodge.  Bonfire and after party will be held at the campground.

The actual event location will be level dependent, but if flows are in the normal range we are planning on having events on the Mary Adams stretch for Class II/III and Oregon Hole Gorge for the IV/V.

BoatSmith will be held on Presidents Day Weekend, February 15-18, 2019.
